Abstract: Our overarching research goal is production of actionable climate science for climate change mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions via enabling energy transitions) and adaptation (enhancing resilience). We achieve this via generation and analyses of credible, robust numerical simulations largely with the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model (WRF variants plus other computational fluid dynamics, CFD codes) and development and application of machine learning (ML) tools to derive new physical insights and predictive tools (AI-emulators).
