Abstract: Our primary goal is to understand how planetesimals form. These bodies are the building blocks of fully fledged planets, but how these smaller bodies themselves form is less well known. Here, we propose to carry out a series of calculations focusing on how gas and solid particles interact. We will be using the Athena gas+particle dynamics code. We will require access to FFT modules as a crucial component to the simulations. We will also require python modules to be able to analyze our simulation data.
